VILLAGE OF BROADVIEW LICENSES

The Village of Broadview requires licenses for a variety of situations, listed below. For additional license information, please call the Village Office at (708) 681-3600.

Vehicle License (Stickers)

Broadview requires that all residents display a resident sticker on their vehicles. These vehicle licenses go on sale on March 1st, and are available at the Village Office located at 2350 South 25th Avenue.

Business License

  1. Application form and all pertinent information is available at the village hall from the executive secretary, village clerk, or village administrator upon request.
     
  2. The application form must be submitted complete as applicable for the specific business desired. An incomplete application form will not be processed until all information is provided.
     
  3. A completed application form will be processed by the village clerk – copies of which will be distributed to the license committee, building dept., mayor and board of trustees for board action. Board action of any application will take place only on regular business meeting days; i.e. 1st & 3rd Mondays of every month.
     
  4. The village clerk will notify the applicant as to the board’s action of the application. Board denial ends further processing. Referral of the application by the board to another board, committee, or commission will be processed by the village clerk.
     
  5. The applicant will be notified from the appropriate board, committee, or commission for the scheduling of any meeting or hearing resulting from the referral. Upon conclusion of the meeting or hearing a written report including a recommendation will be sent to the board of trustees for final action.
     
  6. The village clerk will notify the applicant of the board’s action and process the application for the property to be inspected.
     

  7. The individual inspectors will notify the applicant to schedule property inspections. The applicant will notify and schedule a re-inspection with the appropriate inspector upon correction of deficiencies.
     
  8. The village clerk will notify the applicant after all inspections have been approved informing the applicant to contact and arrange for payment of the business license with the village collector.
     
  9. No business will be allowed to operate without a valid business license.
     
  10. No business license will be issued until paid in full.
     
  11. A business license is valid for 12 months beginning January 1st of each year, and renewable the 11th month of that year. Unpaid business licenses become past due on January 1st of the following year. Any business license approved during the year will have the scheduled fee prorated on a monthly basis for the remainder of that year. Business licenses are non-refundable.
     
  12. A business license is not transferable either from address to address or person to person. A business license fee is transferable provided the fee is the same or greater than that originally paid.
     
  13. A business operating without a valid business license will be shut down and fined the maximum amount as allowed by the law.

Pet Licenses/Registration

All pets (dogs and cats) are required to be licensed and have current rabies shots. Pets are required to wear tags at all times, and are required to be kept on a leash when off of its owner’s property.
