Recycling Pick Up

Recyclables are picked up weekly, the same day as your garbage pick up (see schedule below). Recycling is picked up separately from your garbage, at a different time of day. There is no alley pick up for recycling. All recycling must be placed curbside by 6 p.m. on the day proceeding your pick-up day.

All recycling must be placed in an authorized bin, available through Crown Disposal (Village’s contracted disposal company). To obtain a bin, please call Crown at (708) 485-0900.

Glass Products:

  • Glass (Clear or Colored)
  • Jars

Plastic Products:

  • PETE/Plastic
  • HDPE 2 Plastic
  • 6 & 12 Pack Plastic

Metal Products:

  • Beverage Rings
  • Aluminum of all types
  • Metal Food and Beverage Cans
  • Empty Paint Cans
  • Empty Aerosol Cans

If materials left for recycling pick-up cannot be removed, a "Sorry Note" will be placed explaining why the materials could not be collected for recycling.

Refuse Collection Schedule

Household recycling and garbage will be picked up weekly according to the following schedule:

Mondays
Alleys north of Roosevelt Road, west of 17th Avenue

  • West Side Only: 2100 and 2000 blocks of 20th Avenue
  • East and West Sides: 2100 and 2000 blocks of 18th and 19th Avenue
  • East Side Only: 2100 and 2000 blocks of 20th Avenue

Tuesdays
Streets South of Roosevelt Road

  • 14th and 15th Avenues, 2200-2500
  • 12th and 13th Avenues, 2200-2600

Tuesdays
Alleys North or Roosevelt Road, west of 17th Avenue

  • West Side Only: 2100 and 2000 blocks of 20th Avenue
  • East and West Sides: 2100 and 2000 blocks of 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th Avenues
  • East Side Only: 2100 and 2000 blocks of 25th Avenue

Wednesdays
Streets south of Roosevelt Road

  • 16th and 17th Avenues, 2200-2500
  • 10th and 11th Avenues, 2200-2600
  • 9th Avenue, 2200-2700

Wednesdays
North of Cermak Road

  • 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th Avenues, 2800-2900

Thursdays
Streets south of Roosevelt Road

  • 18th Avenue through 25th Avenue, 2200 to R.R. tracks, including Tyson Drive and 14th Street

Thursdays
Alleys north of Roosevelt Road, 17th Avenue, east through 13th Avenue

  • East Side only 17th Avenue, 2100-1800
  • East and West Sides, 14th, 15th, 16th Avenues, 2100-1800
  • West Side, 13th Avenue Only, 2100-1800

Fridays
South of Cermak Road

  • 24th and 25th Avenues south of River
  • Plus all Terry Lane Subdivision and homes on Gardner Road

Holiday Garbage Pick-Up Schedule

When regularly scheduled garbage pick-up days fall on a legal holiday, garbage pick up is delayed one day. In other words, if your regular pick up day is on Monday and it is a legal holiday, your pick up will be moved until Tuesday. If your pick-up day is Friday and it falls on a holiday, your pick-up day will be moved until Monday.

Legal Holidays

The legal holidays observed by the Village are: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
